Don't Stop Me Now
Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world, I'll turn it inside out yeah
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now
Don't stop me
'cause I'm having a good time
Having a good time
I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go there's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'cause I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all
I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite
I'm out of control
I'm a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to oh oh oh oh oh explode!
I'm burning through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you
Don't stop me don't stop me, don't stop me hey hey hey!
Don't stop me don't stop me ooh ooh ooh
I like it
Don't stop me don't stop me
Have a good time good time
Don't stop me don't stop me
ohhhhhhh!
ohhhhhhh
Burning through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm traveling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Don't stop me now
I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
Don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now
'cause I'm having a good time
Don't stop me now
Yes I'm having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all
Da da da da daaaa da da da
Ha da da ha ha ha ha
Ha da da da da
I chose this song because it contains many literary devices. There are hyperbole; "And the world, I'll turn it inside out yeah", "I'm burning through the sky yeah" and "I'm traveling at the speed of light". There is simile; "I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky like a tiger defying the laws of gravity". last but not least if the reader examines the lyrics he or she can find an allusion to masturbation, this is not found in a single sentence but could ambiguously be the meaning of the song.

Spring Poem
|
|||||||||||||
I chose this poem for a few reason. i find the ending to be hilarious, I also find the poem to be different from some of the other options as its beauty is not ruined by religious messages. I also like it because it keeps things simple its just about a man buying flowers for his lady. |

Ode by Pablo Neruda
I chose Ode to Clothes, in the beginning two sentences; "Every morning you wait,
clothes, over a chair". made me laugh as it explains exactly what i do every day. Every night before sleeping i grab clothes from my closet and place them on a chair, these are the clothes ill be wearing the next day. Besides this i also chose this ode because i find it more entertaining than the others it started making me laugh and then suddenly the ode turns darker and sad;
"I wonder
if one day
a bullet
from the enemy
will leave you stained with my blood
and then
you will die with me"

Stars by Robert Frost
I chose this poem because of its title. I am amazed by space and its infinite void, the stars are countless in the dark . They make me feel small and meaningless yet they bring out a desire for knowledge that is hard to get from any other thing. In his poem Robert Frost uses the literary device of simile. In the sentence:
Robert Frost uses the word "like" to compare two different things; the stars and the snow white marble eyes of Minerva the roman goddess of wisdom. so he is saying that the stars are very white and they can be compared to the blind white eyes of Minerva.
Those stars like some snow-white Minerva's snow-white marble eyes Without the gift of sight.
